Funds For Our Piece Of The Pie
HARTFORD - Our Piece of the Pie was presented with $691,000 for youth services programs Monday by U.S. Rep. John B. Larson, a Democrat from East Hartford.
The federal money will go toward social services for grandparents who are raising their grandchildren and to an employment program to help people ages 14 to 24 find jobs.
"OPP is truly one of the shining lights of our community," Larson said in a press release. "The funding will allow OPP to further their dedication to the growth and development of Hartford's youth."
