College Planning Services
Services for enrolled participants usually begin following promotion from 8 th grade (or earlier) and continue through high school graduation. Services include:
Guidance and counseling on pre-college academic coursework selections in view of
college entrance requirements- Preparation and practice for PSAT/SAT tests at OPP center computer labs
- Assistance with preparation of College Essays, Scholarship Applications, and Letters
- Academic tutoring provided after-school at youth centers by qualified teachers
- Financial planning workshops for youth and families
- Assistance with FAFSA applications
- College campus tours to area colleges - quarterly
- Verification and tracking of student academic performance in cooperation with Hartford Public Schools, youth and parents
- Year round services that interface with Hartford Public School Career and Guidance Services
